Campeonato Brasileiro preview round 21

Round 21 of the Campeonato Brasileiro sees frontrunners Grêmio away at former leaders Flamengo. Grêmio have an excellent record on the road having won 5 games away from Porto Alegre. Celso Roth’s team will be confident of taking picking up maximum points against a Flamengo side that has won just once in their last 9 appearances.
2nd meets 4th as Cruzeiro and Botafogo clash in the estádio Engenhão. Botafogo have zoomed up the table in recent weeks and have won five out of their last six games. Cruzeiro aren’t great away from home and have won only three times. They’ll also be missing Wagner who is injured.
3rd placed Palmeiras are away at an out-of-sorts Internacional. Palmeiras are another side that does not travel well and have been successful only twice so far. Inter have lost just once at home and have to start putting a run together now if they are to finish in the top four.
São Paulo are favourites to take the points from Atlético Paranaense in the estádio Morumbi despite the fact that Atlético won 5-0 at the weekend.
Vitória hope to get back to winning ways in Bahia versus Sport Recife. Vitória have won eight and gone down just twice in front of their own fans this season.
And there’s a real six-pointer in the estádio Ipatingão where the bottom two go head to head. Ipatinga have a good recent record at home and if they beat Santos they will climb off the bottom for the first time since round 11.
