Thiago Neves linked with Manchester City

August 24, 2008

Fluminense and Brazil midfielder, Thiago Neves, could be on his way to sunny Manchester for around 12 million euros.

Currently with Fluminense, the left-footed player has been linked with a number of clubs in Europe but the 23 year-old may soon be turning out with fellow Brazilians, Jô and Elano in City’s blue.

Neves played well for Flu during their ill-fated Libertadores campaign, but had an indifferent run out for Brazil in Beijing.

Undoubtedly talented, Neves lets himself down by constant play-acting and diving – and this will have to be stamped out if he does make the switch to City.

haha maybe he will but it appears that nothing is certain right now. Atletico Madrid are also in the picture and a number of German clubs are in the hunt. the guy is also a bit of a bull-shitter. he apparently signed a pre-contract with Palmeiras at the end of last season but changed his mind and stayed with Flu and then denied he’d signed anything!

Hamburgo’s president, Bernd Hoffmann, has told the Hamburger Morgenpost newspaper that Neves just needs to complete his medical and sign his contract to become a Hamburg player for around 8 million euros
