Thiago Silva Milan bound

Former Fluminense player, Thiago Silva, is on the verge of joining AC Milan.
The highly-rated 24-year-old needs to pass a medical before putting pen to paper but this is expected to be a formality.
Silva left Rio club Fluminense as a free agent at the end of the Brasileiro. The defender has already had two unsuccessful spells in Europe with Porto and Dynamo Moscow.
Silva is strong, quick, has a good positional sense and is tipped to be a regular for Brazil over the coming years.
With fellow Brazilians Dida, Emerson, Kaká, Ronaldinho Gaúcho and Alexandre Pato already at the club, Silva will not be allowed to play until the start of next season. Flu were hoping to take him back on loan but the Italians have made it clear that that is not going to happen.
