Newly promoted Barueri brought leaders Atlético Mineiro back down to earth with a 4-2 home win. Until Saturday, Celso Roth’s team were the only unbeaten side in the top flight. Atlético, though, remain top on goal difference. See the highlights

Internacional moved to 17 points after a 3-0 win against Coritiba. Bolaños was the hero grabbing all three goals in only his second appearance for the club. See the goals

Vitória went third following a 4-1 win over Santo André.  

The big São Paulo derby between Palmeiras and Santos ended all even in the Palestra Itália. Obina struck first for the home side. But after a dismal first-half, Santos came back to equalize through Robson.  See the goals

A Corinthians B team failed to pick up any points away at strugglers Atlético Paranaense. Paulo Baier hit the games only goal to secure his side’s first home win of the season.

New coach Ricardo Gomes got off to a winning start against Náutico in the Morumbi beating the Recife team 2-0.

The Flamengo vs Fluminense derby turned out to be a damp squib with neither side able to score in the Maracanã. Adriano, though, missed a real sitter.  See the highlights

Botafogo are the new bottom side after a 4-1 home thrashing by Goiás.
