Internacional say Tottenham Hotspur target Ranieri is staying put

Sandro Ranieri waiting for a call from 'Arry?

Inter’s football vice president said today that their highly-rated midfielder, Sandro Ranieri, is not about to join Spurs. During a training session on Wednesday, Fernando Carvalho denied the player was on his way to England and stated that the Brazil man will be appearing for the club in next year’s Libertadores. “Sandro has not been sold, I assure you. He’ll be at Inter in 2010”.

This contradicts reports in Wednesday’s Daily Mail that said that the 20-year-old was set to sign with Tottenham for around £6.5 million later this month.

The player himself has said that he’s trying to stay focussed on Sunday’s home game vs Santo André when Inter have an outside chance of winning the league title. However, Ranieri did say: “I knew that they wanted me in August and that they’ve tried again. But right now I don’t know anything”.
