In March last year, Internacional’s Walter Henrique da Silva was amongst the bunch of young Brazilians being looked at by Manchester United. Back then he was valued at around the £5 million mark. But the 20-year-old suffered a serious knee injury and has only just returned to training after an eight month layoff. After recently losing out on Douglas Costa to Shakhtar Donetsk, United may once again turn their attentions to Walter who has scored five goals for Brazil’s U20s.

The player is currently back with Inter’s B team and hit the net at the weekend against minnows Ypiranga. But the forward could rejoin Inter’s senior side within the month and be put into the squad for the Libertadores.

Read the following article and I think you’ll agree that there is more chance of United hiring Walter WInterbottom than buying Walter:

There’s alot of hype about Walter and there is no doubting he is a real raw talent which he has shown whilst playing for the Brazilian Under 20 side. But, in an Inter shirt he really hasn’t established himself in the first time yet.

Under thier new coach, Fossatti, Inter look like their going to line up playing a lone striker which would suggest to me that Walter will need to continue being patient.

I think he needs to continue maturing both as a player and a person before he can think about moving to Europe. As with the Sandro situation, I don’t see what the rush is for him to leave Porto Alegre at this stage of his career.
