Santos in driving seat after 3-2 win over Santo André

Santos took a major step towards clinching the Campeonato Paulista after overcoming a plucky Santo André in the first leg of the finals on Sunday. Rank outsiders, Santo André, governed the first-half and deservedly took the lead through a Bruno César free kick with 35 minutes gone. Santos had struggled to impose themselves on the game. But when Neymar was taken off during the interval after picking up an eye injury, André Ribeiro came on and Santos soon took control of the match. The substitute scored 13 minutes after his introduction after some good work from Paulo Henrique. Wesley then grabbed a quick brace as Santos threatened to run riot; especially when Toninho received a second yellow. But a ten-man Santo André showed their mettle and pulled one back with Rodriguinho.
The result means that Santo André have to win by two goals next Sunday in the Pacaembu. Any other result and Santos will have the trophy.

When our friend Bira started to talk about how good Santo André was, and all that, I knew we were gonna win that game. Corinthianos bring us good luck!
Great job yesterday, thanks!
