Botafogo’s run of three consecutive wins was enough to lift them to 5^th. Somalia and Jobson ensured Atlético Goianienses’ miserable run continued at the bottom of the table.

São Paulo have replaced Ricardo Gomes with junior team coach Sergio Baresi. His team took the lead against Cruzeiro thanks to 18 year old sensation, Casemiro. Luis Felipe Scolari finally picked up his win in charge of Palmeiras. Danilo and Ewerthon were on target in the Pacaembu against strugglers Atlético Paranaense, but the points were only enough to lift the Greens to midtable.
