Cruzeiro retain top slot despite loss

Cruzeiro slipped up away at Grêmio going down 2-1 in the Olimpico. Montillo had given the Foxes the lead. But goals from Júnior Viçosa and Jonas – his 20th of the season – moved Grêmio up 7th. See the goals here.

Even the return of Ronaldo could not end Corinthians winless run that now stretches to six games. The number 9 was back after an absence of 10 matches. Ronaldo had the ball in the back of the net twice but was ruled offside on both occasions. But with only four points behind the leaders, Corinthians remain in the hunt for the title.
Santos and São Paulo fought out a seven-goal thriller in the Morumbi. The Tricolor were down to ten men after Richarlyson was sent off. But Jean popped up in the dying seconds to grab the winner. See the highlights here

At the bottom, Flamengo improved their position with a 3-0 win over a lacklustre Internacional in the Engenhão.
Vitória, Atlético Goianiense and Atlético Mineiro all picked up vital wins but it looks all over for Gremio Prudente who are now 11 points adrift of safety.
