Brazil announce U20 squad for World Cup in Colombia 2011

Coach Ney Franco has called up 26 players for the Under-20 World Cup in Colombia. The coach will cut five players before the squad head off to Colombia 24 July. The tournament runs from July 29 to August 20. Brazil are in Group E and take on Egypt (29 July), Austria (1 August) and Panama (4 August).

Update: on 15 July 2011, Ney Franco dropped the following players from the squad: Diego Maurício (Flamengo), Sebá (Cruzeiro), Roni (Criciúma), Felipe Anderson (Santos).

    Why is Mario Fernandes of Gremio not in there? I thought he was one of Brazil’s finer CB prospects?
