Brazil take on Paraguay in the quarter-finals of the Copa America this afternoon in La Plata. With hosts Argentina out of the competition, Brazil are now the firm favourites but Paraguay will be a tricky opponent. In the Group stage, the pair drew 2-2; Fred coming off the bench to secure a late equalizer for Brazil.
Mano Menezes’ men have been less than convincing and the coach has had his players practising penalties.
Brazil are expected to start with the same eleven that took to the field against Ecuador. However, centreback Thiago Silva is doubtful. David Luiz is on standby.
Brazil (probable): Julio César, Maicon, Lúcio, Thiago Silva (David Luiz), André Santos, Lucas Leiva, Ramires, Paulo Henrique Ganso, Robinho, Neymar, Alexandre Pato
Coach: Mano Menezes
Paraguay (possible): Justo Villar, Dário Verón, Paulo da Silva, Antolín Alcaraz, Aureliano Torres, Enrique Vera, Cristian Riveros, Néstor Ortigoza, Marcelo Estigarribia, Roque Santa Cruz (Haedo Valdez), Lucas Barrios
