Arsenal source scotches Wellington Nem rumours

Contrary to recent reports in Brazil, Arsenal are not interested in Fluminense’s Wellington Nem who is in Brazil’s preliminary squad for the London Olympics. The rumour first started during the Fox Sports broadcast of the Rio side’s recent match versus Boca Junior in the Libertadores when it was said the Gunners had a scout in the stadium watching Nem and Flu’s Argentine midfielder, Manuel Lanzini. Arsenal did in fact have a presence at the estádio Engenhão but a very reliable source connected with the club told me that they were not there to watch Wellington Nem (the source refused to reveal who the scout was watching). Arsenal already have ex Fluminense man, Wellington Silva, on their books and it is thought that the two players are too similar in position, style, build and age.
