Two days before São Paulo take on Corinthians, Morumbi coach Muricy Ramalho has complained that it’s too early in the Campeonato Paulista for a big derby.  Ramalho complained that his team are not ready both tactically and physically for such an important fixture. the coach then went on to say that São Paulo will not reach proper match fitness until round ten of the Paulista. this should coincide with São Paulo’s start in the libertadores. São Paulo are unbeaten in three outings this season but are clearly far from their best.

one big derby has already taken place this season. santos and palmeiras produced a turgid 0x0 in the Vila Belmiro last Sunday.
