Víola: I don’t like gringos (allegedly)

According to a report published by Folhaonline 19/1/2008 (see link below), former Brazil striker, Víola, has got it in for gringos.
The article by Sérgio Rangel alleges that Víola was heard saying “… I don’t like gringos. I don’t like Argentines and Serbs. I don’t like foreigners”.
The player’s outburst was apparently aimed at teammate, Dusan, a Serbian keeper now playing alongside Víola at Dugue de Caxias in the Campeonato Carioca.
The incident is said to have taken place in a hotel in Rio.
Dusan does not speak Portuguese and was not aware of what was being said to him.
In fact, the keeper tried to get his photo taken with Víola but the veteran supposedly asked for money (in English) before disappearing into an elevator.
In an earlier interview, Dusan had made the prophetic remark that “footballers are very temperamental”.
