Adriano returns to Inter

São Paulo announced that Adriano has played his last game for the club and will be returning to Inter Milan after the World Cup qualifiers with Brazil are over.

The forward could have appeared four more times for São Paulo before his contract expired on July 10th.

Coach Muricy Ramalho thanked the player for what he had done for the Morumbi side but said that the decision to release him early was the best move for both São Paulo and Adriano.

The forward last turned out for the Tricolor in the 3-1 defeat against Fluminense in the semis of the Libertadores in May.

In his brief spell back in Brazil, Adriano had a couple of early morning car crashes and a run in with the press. But he did the business on the pitch firing in 17 goals, which made him São Paulo’s top scorer.

While Adriano will return to Italy, his long-term future is still uncertain as Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona have all expressed a interest in the Brazil man.
