Grêmio go six clear at the top of the Brasileiro
The end of the 24th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro saw Grêmio extend their lead over Cruzeiro and Palmeiras.
In a largely uneventful game on Saturday in the Maracanã, Grêmio drew 0-0 with Fluminense. But with Perea and Reinaldo both missing through injury, Celso Roth’s men were more than satisfied with the point. Flu, however, dropped back into the relegation zone after being overtaken by Náutico who beat Ipatinga 2-0 with two goals from substitute, Felipe.
The important clash in the estádio Couto Pereira saw Botafogo leave with all the points after Thiaguinho got the game’s only goal against Coritiba. Botafogo moved back to fourth after picking up their eighth win in eleven outings.
