The Emperor strikes back

Seville forward, Luís Fabiano, has picked up an injury to his right thigh and will miss Brazil’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers in early October.

Fabiano was being touted as Brazil’s first choice striker after scoring twice against Chile and Uruguay this year.

Inter Milan’s Adriano has been called up as a replacement. Adriano has already appeared for Brazil in their qualifying campaign but failed to score against Paraguay and Argentina in June.
