Palmeiras stroll into group stage of Libertadores
Goals from Claiton Xavier and Keirrison against Real Potosí ensured Palmeiras breezed into the next phase of the Libertadores on Wednesday.
Palmeiras have won all six of their games since the start of the season. The pair have now scored five goals a-piece with Xavier hitting the target on every appearance.
5-1 up from the first leg in Brazil, Palmeiras were never really in any danger of being turned over in the estádio Victor Agustín Ugarte, in Potosí.
The Brazilians now go into Group 1 – considered by many to be the toughest in this stage – alongside Brazil’s Sport Recife, current champions LDU from Ecuador, and Chile’s Colo Colo. Palmeiras start their campaign on February 17th away against LDU in Quito.
