Brazil 1-1 Ecuador – Júlio César in brilliant form

Brazil start the day in third but can close the gap on leaders Paraguay who lost to Uruguay on Saturday.

Dunga has a 100% record as a coach beating Ecuador three times. But Brazil have lost their last two qualifying games in Quito.

There’s no Kaká and Juan who are missing through injury. But keeper Julio César is in great form and has not conceded in 532 minutes of football (since Cabañas scored for Paraguay in Asuncion.

Brazil’s away record reads: 2 wins (Chile and Venezuela), 2 draws (Colombia and Peru), 1 loss (Paraguay).

Probable starters: Julio César, Maicon, Lúcio, Luisão, Marcelo, Gilberto Silva, Felipe Melo, Elano, Ronaldinho Gaúcho, Robinho, Luis Fabiano

Data: 29/03/2009.

Stadium: Olímpico de Atahualpa, Quito, Ecuador

Kick off: 18:00 (Brasília)

Referees: Carlos Chandía, Lorenzo Acuña, Sergio Román (all Chile)
