Ex Newcastle man, Mirandinha, has attacked Alan Shearer for his lack of experience and fears the worst for the team he played for in the 80s.

“With all respect to Alan Shearer for what he’s done for the club and English football, this was a bad choice and not the right moment. He has never coached any team and has taken over at Newcastle in a critical situation”, said Mirandinha.

However, the former forward added that he hopes that Shearer can become an even bigger star at the club by saving them from relegation.

Mirandinha was the first Brazilian to play in England and even though it’s twenty years since he was on their books, he still has a passion for the North East club. “Every professional has a dream and I have mine. I nearly went to Newcastle to work with the junior teams and I still want to be the coach of the club”. Mirandinha is currently managing Brazilian second division team, Fortaleza, but remains a huge fan of the Magpies. “I was really happy in my time at Newcastle and feel very sad about their situation and the possibility of going down. I follow all their games and really hope that it doesn’t happen as it would be horrible for a city that lives so intensely for football. Now is the time to win the derby and beat Boro. I took part in great wins and I hope that everything goes right in this huge match in the north of England”.

I’m actually from the North-East of England and a Newcastle United fan. I feel it wouldn’t of mattered who was appointed as the damage had already done by the time Shearer was appointed.

Ever since Mike Ashley bought the club it has been one thing after another. Probably be meeting your lot next season Jon.
