Porto Alegre side, Internacional, stayed top of the Brasileiro after picking up their third win of the season.

Inter had an eye on the Copa do Brasil first leg semi-final meeting with Coritiba on Wednesday, but Taison’s 22nd goal of the year was enough to see off Goiás in Goiana. See the goal here

Náutico came from two goals down to win 3-2 away at strugglers Atlético Paranaense. With just one point in the bag, Atlético are bottom and coach, Geninho, is running the risk of becoming the first manager to get the chop.

Atlético Mineiro went third after a 3-2 victory away to Sport Recife. This was Celso Roth’s side’s second win in a row following last week’s home victory over Grêmio.

Another in-form striker is Cruzeiro’s Kléber who knocked in two against Vitória. This was the volatile frontman’s 19th in 19 games for the Belo Horizonte club.

Santos went down to an early goal by Fluminense’s Mariano in the Maracanã. But by the end of the 90 minutes, Flu had lost Dieguinho and Eduardo Ratinho to red cards and had crashed to a 4-1 defeat. Molina, the hard-working Madson, and a brace from Kléber Pereira, gave Santos the emphatic win. See the highlights here

New Grêmio coach, Paulo Autuori, got off to a winning start as his team saw off Botafogo with goals from Jonas and Fábio Santos.

A second-string Corinthians secured their first win and their first goals thanks to Souza and Jean in the 2-1 win over Barueri.

League champions São Paulo fought out a 0-0 draw with bitter rivals Palmeiras in the Palestra Itália. Both teams are involved in the Libertadores midweek, but it was the efforts of Marcos and São Paulo’s third choice keeper, Dênis, that ensured the match would stay goalless.

At the wrong end of the table, Coritiba picked up their first point after a 2-2 draw at Avaí.
