Náutico came from two goals down to win 3-2 away at strugglers Atlético Paranaense. With just one point in the bag, Atlético are bottom and coach, Geninho, is running the risk of becoming the first manager to get the chop.
Atlético Mineiro went third after a 3-2 victory away to Sport Recife. This was Celso Roth’s side’s second win in a row following last week’s home victory over Grêmio.

Santos went down to an early goal by Fluminense’s Mariano in the Maracanã. But by the end of the 90 minutes, Flu had lost Dieguinho and Eduardo Ratinho to red cards and had crashed to a 4-1 defeat. At the wrong end of the table, Coritiba picked up their first point after a 2-2 draw at Avaí.
