Chelsea man drops out of Brazil squad

Chelsea centreback, Alex, will miss Brazil’s World Cup qualifying matches against Uruguay and Paraguay after agreeing to undergo a hernia operation.

The player also misses out on Brazil’s trip to South Africa for the Confederations Cup next month.

Brazil coach Dunga is expected to announce a replacement shortly.
