Adriano leads Flamengo to victory

Flamengo strolled past strugglers Atlético Paranaense thanks in part to a goal from their returning hero Adriano. The emperor was gifted a free header by a sloppy Atlético defence and Fla went on to win the game 2-1. See the highlights here

Internacional maintained their impressive start to the season with a 2-1 home win against new boys Avaí. Talles Cunha and Alecsandro got the goals that left Inter three points clear of their nearest rivals, Vitória, who beat Grêmio 1-0 in Bahia. Santos made heavy work of a Corinthians B team in the Vila Belmiro. A brace from Paulo Henrique and one from Madson ensured Santos got their first win in the league vs Corinthians in three years. Youngster, Renato, scored for the away side but it was an unhappy return to first team football for Lulinha who was harshly sent off by referee Leandro Pedro Vuaden. See the highlights here.

São Paulo finally picked up their first win after mauling Cruzeiro 3-0 in the Morumbi. See the goals here.

Coach, Vanderlei Luxemburgo, was booed by a large contingent of the Palmeiras fans after his side could only manage a 2-2 away to neighbours Barueri. Keirrison and Obina (his first for his new club) were on target for the visitors. But Palmeiras threw away a two-goal lead when Pedrão scored twice to bring his tally to three in the league. With four rounds gone, Avaí, Barueri, Botafogo, Sport, Atlético Paranaense and Coritiba have yet to win.
