ciao italia
Brazil dumped Italy out of the Confederations Cup after a ruthless display in Pretoria.

The game was dominated by Brazil who hit the woodwork a couple of times before a brace from Luís Fabiano and a Dossena own goal ended the Italian’s faint hopes before half-time.

Brazil now have a semi-final date with Joel Santana’s South Africa in Johannesburg on Thursday.

Exactly as I predicted. Italy ripped part by the counter. They did so some signs of life and exposed that for all of Dunga’s talk the defense only looks so good because of Julio Cesar.

I forgot to mention this before but you have a great blog.

Excellent!! Brazil was playing excellent. Lucio was my man of the match. It was great to see Ramires and Andre Santos starting to play with confident.

I didn’t like Ramires touch on the ball but he needs more games for experience. I’m not sure what Dunga sees in him. The old guys were solid. Overall, a great display of superior skill. We’ll have to see how they perform against Spain for the true measure.

Italy really were pants. It is quite awful to see Canavaro age in front of your eyes.

Despite previous comments, I was actually quite impressed with Felipe Melo, but I can’t help but feel that this Brazil has too many mediocre players – Luis Fabiano had a ‘fab’ game, but is he a world cup winning striker? Ramires and Andre Santos looked fine at best; I’m deeply unconvinced by the centre backs – to truly threaten in South African next summer.

sexton blake – i think with ramires in the side, brazil are gelling as a team.playing elano disturbed the balance of the side. robinho, kaka, ramires as the 3 attackers with Fabiano as the striker is working well for them.but the Spanish are red-hot at the moment & it should be a gr8 match if these two sides meet in the final(80%sure)
