Kaká, Dunga and Adriano ponder tonight's clash with Argentina

Brazil head to Argentina today knowing that a win could see them qualify for next year’s World Cup in South Africa. Dunga’s men need the three points in the estádio Gigante in Rosario and require Colombia to beat Ecuador in Medellin earlier in the day.

Luisão is in for the injured Juan. Luís Fabiano starts up front alongside Robinho but Adriano will be on the bench.

Brazil are leaders with 27 points and have now gone 17 games unbeaten.

Argentina are in 4th and run the risk of failing to finish in the top five (5th placed goes into a playoff with the 4th placed team in the Concacaf section. In their three remaining games, Argentina have tricky ties away to Uruguay and Paraguay, and are at home to Peru.

The compact estádio Gigante can cater for just 35,000 supporters. But coach Maradona and Argentina are hoping that there will be an intimidating atmosphere awaiting Brazil.

Argentina are unbeaten at home in 41 matches. But Brazil have had the best of recent confrontations winning four, drawing 2 and losing just 1.

Just a note Jon – the Argentina lineup you’ve posted their is confirmed rather than probable. Why Maradona announced it so far in advance I’m not sure, but then why does Maradona do anything?
