Hernanes gets acrobatic

Ricardo Gomes’ São Paulo managed their first win of the campaign after brushing aside strugglers Rio Claro in the Morumbi.

The Tricolor were far from their best but goals from Hernanes, Washington and Rogério Ceni ensured a plucky Rio Claro would stay bottom. See the goals

Corinthians made heavy work of Oeste in the Fonte Luminosa. Roberto Carlos was making his second appearance for the Musketeers but had very little influence on the game. Paulo André and Boquita scored for Corinthians but their Argentine midfielder, Defederico, missed a hatful of chances. See the highlights

Palmeiras were leading Ituano 3-1 at the Palestra Itália thanks to Diego Souza, Robert and Deyvid Sacconi. Ex Brazil man Juninho Paulista had struck for Ituano and then the minnows mounted a comeback to earn a draw after Danilo turned the ball into his own net and Rodrigão struck from inside the box.  See the goals

Santos suffered their first defeat of the Paulista losing 2-1 at Mogi Mirim. Paulo Henrique Ganso hit the net for the boys from the Vila. But goals from Niel and Geovanne earned Mogi a much-needed win. See the highlights

São Caetano went top after thumping Sertãozinho 5-1. São Caetano share the lead with Portuguesa and Corinthians who are also on 7 points.
