Wolfsburg snap up Grêmio centreback Réver
German side Wolfsburg are set to pay around €5 million for Grêmio defender Réver. The defender scored five times for the Porto Alegre club in last season’s Campeonato Brasileiro.
Like many Brazilian players, Réver is owned by more than one party. In his case; Grêmio have 55%, Paulista FC 25% and an investment group 20%. Wolfsburg are said to have offered the player a five-year contract.
If the deal goes through, Réver will team up with countrymen Grafite and Josué. However, the 25-year-old fractured his right hand versus Veranópolis at the weekend and is expected to be out of action for the next three weeks.
Full name: Réver Humberto Alves Araújo
