I would like Selecao coach Mano Menezes to include Striker Welliton Soares de Morais of club Spartak Moscow in the selecao squad for the Brazil vs Argentina friendly on
November 17, 2010. Striker Welliton who is left footed is much too talented to be left out of the brazil football squad. In 14 games of the Russian league in the 2010- ongoing season he has scored 13 goals i.e. a rate of almost one goal a game. Also the striker is threatening to take up the passport of some other country and play for that country. This could be a big loss for brazil !!!!! Is coach Menezes listening?

Especially coming off such an impressive victory against the World Cup champions, I look forward more than ever to this upcoming “friendly” versus Argentina. Based on their current form, this will be an excellent early test for Brasil, especially for the younger, less experienced players.

Obviously winning is always preferred but based on what I expect Menezes to completely revamp the squad, the focus should be on what is best for 2014 and not simply for a result for what in the short term is a meaningless game. The game’s true worth is to further build a team that will successfully vie in major tournaments, qualifications and ultimately to reclaim the World Cup on it’s home soil. This is the time to experiment, gamble and think out of the box.

If Brasil wins then all the better but it isn’t the end all, be all. Brasil needs to stay focused on the bigger picture, and prize and not succumb to public and media pressure. With that said, I always look forward to a Brasil x Argentina match!

The Selecao should be a mix of youth and experience, something Dunga never understood. So far, I like the direction Menezes is taking the squad.

Hernanes is not a defensive midfielder. He is instrumental in the attack for Lazio and has great qualities.

I’m looking forward to this friendly. It will be a big test.
