Brazil World Cup squad 2014
Luiz Felipe Scolari has named his 23-man squad for the Brazil World Cup.
Perhaps the only real surprise was the inclusion of Napoli centre-back Henrique, who Scolari worked with at Palmeiras. There was no place for Liverpool’s Coutinho or Milan’s Robinho and Kaká.
Next Tuesday (13th May), Scolari has names seven ‘reserves’ who will remain on standby. They are: Diego Cavalieri (goalkeeper Fluminense), Lucas Leiva (midfielder Liverpool), Rafinha (right-back Bayern Munich), Filipe Luis (left-back Atletico Madrid), Miranda (centre-back Atletico Madrid), Lucas Moura (midfielder PSG) & Alan Kardec (forward São Paulo).
Brazil will play two friendlies before the competition: Panamá on June 3rd in the estádio Serra Dourada in Goiânia, June 6th against Serbia in the estádio Morumbi in São Paulo.
Brazil start their campaign 12th June against Croatia in the Corinthians Arena in São Paulo. Five days later, the hosts then face Mexico in the estádio Mineirão in Belo Horizonte. On the 23rd June, Brazil take on Cameroon in the estádio Nacional in Brasília.
