It is a matter of time before Brazilian football becomes as global as the Premier League. A lot of money flowing in.

Thats a long time though, great news all the same.

True, but a while ago I don’t think anyone would have predicted the league to be where its at today. Give us 10 years! we might not be there (where the premier league is) be we will have come a long way

things certainly look promising. money and stars coming in. new stadiums on their way (eventually) – but let’s see what happens now Corinthians, Fla, Flu, Vasco & Botafogo have split from the Clube dos 13 – hope we can avoid another Campeonato João Havelange type scenario

Yea, especially now that Brazilian football seems to be organizing itself, we certainly don’t want to see more chaos like 2000. I’m not a fan of the split, which I believe will harm the little teams, however I was looking at the proposed distribution and I have to agree with Corinthians and Flamengo. being as massive as they are they deserve a slightly bigger cut of the cheese. (not a flamengo or corinthains fan by the way). I have a hunch corinthians will be returning to the C13. not sure about the rio teams. maybe all of this can somehow lead the league to breaking away from CBF like the Premier League did from the FA. Liga Brasileira de Futebol has a nice ring to it 🙂

Is it final that Corinthians and the Rio clubs have broken away from the Group of 13? I ask because I read that the Group of 13 asked the TV networks in Brazil to make bids for televising the Group of 13’s clubs games. Is that bid for televising the remaining 8 clubs or for all of them, including Corinthians and the Rio teams?
