Lucas Moura and Manchester United saga rolls on

A possible move for Lucas Moura from São Paulo to Manchester United is still on, but no deal has been reached between the clubs.
Yesterday evening, a report in the Daily Mirror declared that the player had signed for United for £26million (€33million). Soon after, Rádio Jovem Pan in Brazil reported that São Paulo president Juvenal Juvêncio and the player’s agent Wagner Ribeiro had denied the transfer had gone through.
Ribeiro told Gazeta Esportiva on Monday morning: “This is just speculation from the English press. All the parties have to agree: the player, the buying club and the seller. I guarantee 100% that Lucas has not done a deal [with United]. He is focused on the Olympics”.
Also on Monday, Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed the situation: “It’s not correct. We haven’t reached an agreement for the player. We have shown an interest, but until such time we get a deal agreed, we can’t say he’s our player.”
19-year-old Moura is currently on duty with Brazil’s Olympic squad. His official buyout clause is £62 million (€80 million).
