Lucas Moura tells agent to keep talking to Manchester United

The claims and counter-claims coming from São Paulo FC and from Lucas Moura’s agent, Wagner Ribeiro, have created a tangled web surrounding the possible transfer of the player to Manchester United.
Both club and agent have said that Moura is happy at São Paulo. But on Tuesday evening, Ribeiro told Rádio Globo that the player had instructed him to keep talking to United. “My boss is the player. I always talk to him. The person who determines what I do, and my guidelines, is the player. If he says he does not want to leave Sao Paulo, I wouldn’t even accept an offer. He told me to go ahead when I spoke about the interest of Manchester [United]. It’s a great proposal. If it was something he couldn’t refuse, he would go. But he is also happy in Sao Paulo. [And] if he stays at São Paulo, life goes on” said Ribeiro.

    An excerpt from an article posted by Sky Sports News in the UK;

    Sao Paulo vice-president Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes told Estadao ESPN: “I don’t rule out the possibility that in the future we open negotiations with Manchester United as we received them with great courtesy.

    “And there is the possibility they come back with another offer. Their approach was serious”.

    I don’t know about you, but that sounds to me like a guy who’s getting slightly anxious that United may not come back to the table after the rejection of their latest offer. The line where he comments on the seriousness of United’s bid, almost sounds like he is trying to convince himself rather than others.

      Yes my man I agree with you, Sao Paulo have realised that they missed on a golden offer for Lucas Moura. They have already realised that the money was even beyond the actual value of the player. But if I were Sir Alex Ferguson I would never go for Lucas Moura for more than 20 million pounds. How can Lucas Moura be more expensive than Fabregas, Balotelli, David Silva, Alexis Sanchez or David Luiz? He looks promising but it doesn’t make sense to me paying all that money for the young Brazilian whose owners go to the public media and brag that the TV is paying them well, the Brazilian economy is good….that is purely nonsense. They wish United could add just 1 more million pound and accept the offer. But my prediction is that they will NEVER EVER get such a bid for Lucas Moura any other time. Maybe not even Neymar himself will go for that money, Barcelona will just play with their minds and get him for less like they did with Fabregas from Arsenal or Alexis Sanchez from Udinese. If I were Alex Ferguson, I would go for Robin Van Persie for 25 million pounds and Javi Martinez for 22 million pounds and close the chapter for the Brazilin outfit.

        Why The Heck Would You Want to Buy A 30 Year Old With That Amount Of Money? There’s No Way Alex Is Going To Take Out 25mil For V.P ..
        Never !

      São Paulo are definitely starting to panic a little, I believe. From the gossip section of the Manchester United website;

      “25/7/2012: Terra in Brazil reckons Sao Paulo are willing to negotiate over Lucas Moura with agent Wagner Ribeiro given the green light to travel to England and talk to United”.

      Ribeiro has denied he’s going to England to talk to United, claiming that he is there simply to support the Brazil Olympic team. The same Brazil that just happen to be playing at Old Trafford on the 29th 😉

      This is a little different to the massively bullish stance São Paulo have taken up until now, is it not?

    honestly i don’t think we need this player,first because he is too raw a talent to be worth such an exuberant fee (30m pounds) and honestly i think it’d be a little difficult for him to adjust to english football which is a looooong way away from the Brazilian league…. so my advice is that in as much as we want our crown back, we should be sensible with our kitty because and look for a ferocious defensive midfielder that has proven himself such as cheik tiote of Newcastle

      Yes my man, I would also consider the same option for the versatile harassing midfielder who is even experienced in the premier league than the Brazilian dazzler.

    We must trust Sir Alex’s experience and commitment. He claims a clear goal for the next season and i am sure the winger will be a part to reach our deep wish to get back the trophy, may God all this things happens

    Ibrahim we do indeed need this player. Have a deep look into him, he is exactly what we need especially in Europe where we could then play a 4-2-3-1 and wipe away the embarrassment of last season

    Agent & Sao Pablo club president scum…..should just forget the deal and focus on getting a left back and central midfielder instead of wasting the money on this unproven player.
