After announcing his first 23 players earlier in the day, Dunga revealed the seven footballers who are on his stand by list. Diego Tardelli (Atlético Mineiro), Paulo Henrique Ganso (Santos), Carlos Eduardo (Hoffenheim), Marcelo (Real Madrid), Alex (Chelsea), Ronaldinho Gaúcho (AC Milan), and Sandro Ranieri (Internacional/Tottenham) are all hoping to make the final cut.

These are the players he would have picked in the first place. What Dunga saw in some players is only known to himself. Brazil needed a better coach anyway.

Dear Dunga,
No one can leave behind RONALDINHO if Brazil wants to comeback home with World Cup. This is the universal truth that every defender in the world gets his leg unbalanced once Ronaldinho comes with a ball in front. So, what do you think more?? just ask Ronaldinho to massage his foot for South Africa 2010……

Coach Dunga,
No Brazlian coach will leave behind RONALDINHO if the coach realy want to win the world cup maybe Dunga want to take the team to south Africa for party . A player like RONALDINHO will go to the world cup as one of the reserves players, what a big mess for Brazilian football. RONALDINHO did well this season in italy, what about KAKA, and other strikers that did have good season for their teams.

Quite rightly the headline for this article was about Sandro Ranieri, and not about Ronaldinho Gaucho. Let’s leave it at that.

Thats a relief ..Ronaldinho in the team.But still Ronaldo..the penality box king is out .Dunga we r happy that you reconsidered Ronaldinho( sadly .in reserve ) but please do also consider Ronaldo.Though he may be overweight but when it comes to a goal ,..he is a real killer.

Jon, can any of these seven be included in the final 22? or does someone have to pull out with injury etc.
Really cant see how hes left out alex, marcelo, and ronaldinho.
hes got five holding midfielders I know he use to play there but this is brasil hes coaching! and michel bastos is’nt a left back! so you must include marcelo.
No ronaldinho is ludacris hes been superb for AC, even though i havn’t been hes biggest fan when hes last put the yellow jersey on.

my understanding is that the first 23 are the players who are going to South Africa. the other seven are just reserves in case of injury before the official lis has to be submitted to FIFA.
Dunga just loves defensive midfielders – i’d rather he dropped one of them to include Paulo Henrique in the squad. if Kaká gets injured or plays badly, Brazil have no obvious replacement

thanks mate, can’t comment on paulo henrique as never seen him play im quite excited to see him if you think he should go.kaka has’nt had a great season at all it does worry me, there’s always that brazilian number 10 that is the difference.This squad list just doesn’t make me think wow! especially when you look at spain and netherlands squads.

I’m reminded of the complaints about Phil Scolari leaving Romario off the Seleção eight years ago. It was like the complaints now concerning Ronaldinho being left off. Both tecnicos are being rakes for leaving off the big goal scorer/playmaker. As Big Phil explained then, Romario simply didn’t play the style for which the team was being prepared. The same can be said now of Ronaldinho (and Pato, for that matter). Fique frio, rapaz. Chill, bro.

I have great respect for coach Dunga but I was quite disappointed by the choices he made particularly by leaving out Ronaldinho. The guy proved himself at AC Milan during the 2nd half of the season & deserved to be selected!

wow!!! what a big surprise about Ronaldinho. you don’t have to take that man as simple as that far. Ronaldinho is good player that anyone can ever imagine. Even if he is not gonna be in the first line up he still remains the best player ever. i juss want to say to Ronaldinho just don’t have to let yourself down becoz of this its just that he (Dunga) hates your tactic of real football.
